Qualifications: He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 with a B.A. in international research and Asian research. He earned his Juris Doctorate at North Carolina Central University Law School in 2006. Experience: Attorney Tin Nguyen has been practicing private for more than 10 years in immigration law and family removal, including many petitions to support non-US citizens with US citizenship. . Tin Nguyen is an active member of the Charlotte community. He is a founding member of the Southeast Asian Union (SEAC), a social justice organization and a multiracial youth organization in Charlotte. He is the leading professional lawyer at SEAC, representing immigrant / refugee families of police violence. He also provides legal support, representation and counseling for young people caught in the juvenile justice system. Tin Nguyen is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and was previously the Chairman of the Pro Bono Committee. He is a former board member of the US-North Carolina Civil Liberties Union (ACLU-NC) and currently serves on the Legal Committee of the organization.
